Senior Geotechnical Engineer

SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER 

Associated Earth Sciences, Inc. (AESI) is a multi-disciplinary, professional geotechnical engineering, hydrogeological, geological, and environmental consulting firm. AESI has been providing these services to municipal, commercial and residential clients since 1981. 

AESI is seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer. Candidates should have experience with geotechnical site exploration projects including managing schedules, preparing proposals, budgets and written geotechnical reports for commercial, residential and municipal clients. Position requires strong geotechnical analysis and design skills, excellent communication and organizational skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships. Local experience a plus. This is a tremendous growth opportunity for the right individual. 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:  

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:  

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, Washington P.E. License.  

Entry Level Staff Geologist/Engineer/Soils Technician

Associated Earth Sciences, Inc. is now accepting resumes for an entry level staff geologist/staff engineer/soils technician.

The position will mostly involve construction monitoring and soil density testing on construction sites.

Applicants must have a minimum of 1-year experience with a nuclear, moisture-density gauge, own vehicle and currently live in the Puget Sound region.

Hourly compensation and benefits depend on experience. AESI is an equal opportunity employer. Qualified applicants will be subject to a background check prior to employment.

This is a full time temporary position with possibility of permanent hire.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Live in Washington State, USA or have plans in motion to move to Washington State. This posting is for a temporary summer hire and relocation will not be provided.

  • Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds

  • Must have own working vehicle and able to drive it to job sites across the Puget Sound.

  • Required license or certification: Driver's License

  • Job Type: Full-time, Summer (June to October), Temporary with possibility of permanent hire.

  • Job Location: Kirkland, Tacoma, and Mount Vernon but our projects cover the entire Puget Sound.

  • Requested experience: soil density testing, construction monitoring: 1 year

Salary: $24.00 to $30.00 /hour depending on experience and skill set.

Project/Senior Hydrogeologist (Kirkland, Tacoma, Mount Vernon)

Associated Earth Sciences, Inc. (AESI) is a mid-sized professional hydrogeologic, geotechnical engineering, and environmental consulting firm that has provided focused solutions to a wide range of private and public sector clients since 1981. Our success depends on the growth, advancement, and achievement of our employees. AESI’s hydrogeology group has an immediate opening for a Project/Senior Hydrogeologist in our Kirkland, Tacoma or Mount Vernon office. This is an opportunity to provide senior leadership, engage in a variety of work experiences, and receive strong mentorship while working closely with other AESI technical disciplines in a casual work environment.

Responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Performing and managing a variety of geologic and hydrogeologic field work including subsurface exploration, aquifer testing, infiltration testing, groundwater level monitoring, and water quality sampling.

  • Analysis of geologic and hydrogeologic data.

  • Analysis of water rights data

  • Preparation of proposals, technical reports, graphics, and cost estimates

 

Education and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline

  • Washington State Hydrogeologist or Geologist License

 

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of consulting experience in the field of geology, hydrogeology and/or water rights

  • Working knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations (e.g. water rights, stormwater management)

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Analysis and interpretation of hydrogeologic data

  • Excellent organization, project management, and client communication skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

This is an opportunity to experience a variety of work experiences and receive strong mentorship while working closely with other AESI technical disciplines in a casual work environment.

Responsibilities for this position may include:

  • Working knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations (e.g. water rights, stormwater management)

  • Excellent organization, project management, and client communication skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
