Project /Senior Staff Hydrogeologist

Associated Earth Sciences, Inc. (AESI) is a mid-sized professional hydrogeologic, geotechnical engineering, and geophysics consulting firm that has provided focused solutions to a wide range of private and public sector clients since 1981. Our success depends on the growth, advancement, and achievement of our employees. AESI’s hydrogeology group has an immediate opening for a Senior Project. Project or Senior Staff to Senior Project Hydrogeologist with numerical groundwater modeling experience in our Mount Vernon, Tacoma, or Kirkland office. This is an opportunity for a variety of work experiences and receive strong mentorship while working closely with other AESI technical disciplines in a casual work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing a variety of geologic and hydrogeologic field work including subsurface exploration, aquifer testing, infiltration testing, groundwater level monitoring, and water quality sampling.

  • Development and calibration of numerical groundwater flow (MODFLOW) models to analyze groundwater systems.

  • Analysis of geologic and hydrogeologic data.

  • Analysis of water rights data.

  • Preparation of technical reports and graphics.

EDUCATION AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline

  • Washington State Geologist-in-Training (GIT) license.

  • Washington State Hydrogeologist or Geologist License preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 to 10 years of consulting experience in the field of geology, hydrogeology, and/or water rights.

  • Working knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations (e.g. water rights, stormwater management)

  • Proficiency using industry standard groundwater modeling software (e.g. Groundwater Vistas [MODFLOW])

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • General understanding of and interpretation of hydrogeologic data

  • Excellent organization, project management, and client communication skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Generally, office-based work using a PC.

  • Balanced fieldwork in variable weather conditions at construction sites.

  • No overnight travel required.
